Music Production | Photography | Design Thinking

Born and raised in Taiwan, Heng specializes in producing ambient music paired with immersive visuals, focusing on conveying deep emotions through thoughtful copywriting that reflects the nuances of everyday life.
Heng’s first exposure to music came in 2012, when he discovered the work of Xie Ming-You. Xie’s brilliant fusion of grassroots music and Taiwanese folk singing deeply inspired Heng, prompting him to begin composing in his native Taiwanese in 2021. Under the stage name ‘Wu Yu Ji‘ (Mullet Roe in Chinese), Heng released singles on the Taiwanese independent music platform StreetVoice. His works primarily draw on grassroots folk traditions while incorporating experimental rock elements.
In 2024, inspired by his favorite Taiwanese indie bands Sorry Youth and Sugar Plum Ferry, Heng formed the independent band WAVE9. Paying tribute to the beauty of the ocean within him, WAVE9 released its debut EP Trapped Luminosity, which explores the tension between self-pursuit and societal constraints—a reflection on modern struggles.
Today, Heng continues to push the boundaries of immersive music production, creating a distinctive aesthetic in instrumentation and sound design, with a focus on capturing the beauty of auditory solitude.
In August 2024, Heng relocated to the United Kingdom on a T5 visa, valid until August 2026, seeking new challenges and continuing to evolve his unique body of work.
